Armitstead Barnett has seen a period of considerable growth.  The Agency department has gone from strength to strength across the firm with record breaking numbers of residential, new homes and land sales during 2018.

Challenging yet rewarding, the role of Sales Negotiator is pivotal to our business and we’re looking for the right people to fill those shoes.  Does this sound like you? Here’s what we’re looking for. You’ll be in the heart of it all as a Sales Negotiator in our growing team. We are looking for a full-time member of staff at both the Garstang and Burscough offices, joining our successful village, rural and high-end Agency team, across the North-West.

In this role you will handle all types of enquiries, arrange marketing appraisals and viewings, proactively match applicant and property databases, receive and negotiate offers, report to our surveyors and ensure that our high levels of customer service are maintained.  Attending viewings may also be required from time to time.  Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous estate agency experience although this is not essential for the right candidate. You must have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and be highly organised. You must be able to work as part of a strong team but be self motivated and hold a full UK driving licence. Salary will be dependent on experience.

Chartered Surveyor – 3 + years PQE

Cumbria Office 

Term: Permanent
Working hours: Full-time
Location: Kendal
Salary range: Competitive


You will be able to “hit the ground running” in picking up existing work, as well as assisting with the growth and the development of the team with Kendal and the South Lakes area.

Reporting directly to the Partners, the position will involve all aspects of professional work.  There will be the opportunity to tailor the role to suit an individual’s requirements, based around the following areas of practice:

  • Village, Rural and High End Estate Agency
  • Agricultural Land and Property Management
  • Valuation work
  • Dealing with development sites and opportunities
  • Subsidy and grant claims

The ideal candidate will:

  • have in excess of 3 years PQE
  • have the necessary understanding to provide high quality and professional advice to a variety of client types and aim to exceed clients’ expectations;
  • have the ability to run their own workload and provide support to other team members as required;
  • be able to work independently and be proactive in generating new work and
  • be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and promote the values of Armitstead Barnett both internally and externally.

Due to the continued growth of the business we have an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified Rural Surveyor or Rural Graduate from an RICS accredited Course to join us at our Garstang Office. The role will provide an excellent opportunity to get involved with a wide range of rural professional work as we work with a wide range of clients allowing the candidate a chance to develop skills across many areas of expertise including:

  • Land and Estate Management
  • Road and Utility Schemes

Graduate Surveyor Vacancy 


Armitstead Barnett are growing and looking to recruit another Graduate Surveyor.  This is an exciting opportunity with a progressive business.  The successful candidate will assist and support the partners and associates in all aspects of professional work, including but not limited to:-

  • compulsory purchase and compensation claims
  • rural, village, and high-end estate agency
  • agricultural land and property management
  • agricultural landlord and tenant matters

The candidate will be due to complete, or will have completed an RICS accredited degree.  They will be highly motivated to gain both RICS and CAAV qualifications and also to progress in their careers.  The candidate must be forward thinking and up to speed with rural affairs.  They will be highly organised, with a strong work ethic, enthusiastic and dynamic.
