Parbold – Why I Love My Village

Parbold is a beautiful place to call home. The picturesque village is located on the Leeds Liverpool canal, between the agricultural settlements of Mawdesley, Bispsham and Newburgh. The heart of the village remains centred around the canal built in the late 1700s, this area of the village has now been dedicated as a conservation area.
There is a wide range of property in the village, with price tags ranging from £90,000 to £3,000,000, there sure is a property to suit everyone’s needs! Although there are some bespoke new build properties dotted around the village, much of the historic, character property still has a prominent presence within the village of Parbold. In fact there are 15 buildings / landmarks within the village that have been designated as listed buildings, two of which are Grade II*.
Whether you are moving to the village with a young family or retiring I can certainly say Parbold has something to offer to all age groups. The Manchester to Southport train line, passes through the centre of the village allowing people to commute to work to the city and enjoy the attractions of Manchester, whilst living a rural village life. For keen walkers, there are plenty of footpaths that explore Parbold and the surrounding countryside. One of my favorites is the walk to Cedar Farm in Mawdesley, which is an excellent lunch and coffee stop, with an array of quirky shops and a farmers market once a month. If you are looking for something more local, there are 4 pubs in Parbold all serving great Pub food, 2 of which have their own brewery!
Without a doubt, the accessibility of the village is what makes it so popular. You can be at junction 27 on the M6 in just under 4 miles or hop on a train in Wigan taking you to London in less than 2 hours, it is an area that is very well connected.
