Key advice if you are thinking of moving…

13th October 2020

So the property market is rising, with lockdown continuing people are still looking to move to more rural locations or the house of their dreams.  Since the national lockdown eased and our teams are back doing what they do best, we have seen high levels of demand for truly AB properties – cottages, houses, smallholdings and farms!  Stamp duty alterations to assist the market have further increased interest levels.  We have agreed plenty of sales, beyond those agreed last year if you look at year to date comparisons.  All this is good news, but we see a high volume of property sales now in the hands of lawyers to push through to exchange and completion.  The sheer volume of work has slowed the sales process down.  It isn’t just lawyers, this goes for, surveyors, accountants, lenders and many other professions.

We are hearing that people are looking to sell ahead of the potential end of the stamp duty deadline.  With sales taking longer to push through and a likely rush ahead of the end of March, it is worth starting those early conversations now.  As we have said in previous newsletters “getting the right advice is critical”.  A March completion is likely to need a pre Christmas launch – let us guide you through.  Act early, lets have those conversations now.
