If built, the two proposed offshore wind farms will have the potential to power the equivalent of around two million homes. The project will include a range of Offshore and Onshore infrastructure that will be used to transport electricity from the wind farms to the National Grid Substation at Penwortham, which will include two new substations and a huge swath of land for Cable Corridor route. As part of the planning process a statutory consultation has just opened and runs until 23rd November. All potentially affected landowners and occupiers are recommended to take part in the consultation and ensure they are represented.
