How could we have predicted this year. The year started as usual with a flurry in January and gathering momentum within our rural and high-end specialism ready for an exciting Spring. Corona Virus then hit and paused us in our tracks, as we closed our offices ahead of lockdown, we were able to create a network of team members who successfully worked from home.
During lockdown we could feel the momentum in the market building, with so many people looking to move out to more rural locations. People were looking to improve their environment and enjoy their homes. AB were well placed to take care of this niche market. Part way through lockdown we made contact with a handful of conveyancing lawyers to explain what we felt the market was doing, and for them to “be ready.”
Sure enough, when agents were able to resume work, albeit as safely as possible under the new Covid guidance, momentum began to soar. The properties that came to the market were often agreed very quickly, with many going to a best and final offer situation. The stamp duty alterations were then announced, making people think further about their homes and selling/buying. As time went on, prices were rising and now due to stock shortages, prices continue to rise for the time being.
We would like to thank all of our team members who have, throughout this period, pulled together and showed great resilience, working tirelessly pushing sales through to completion. From building plots, to parcels of land, cottages, houses, equestrian properties and farms – they have really pulled out all the stops. In addition, on behalf of all at AB, we would like to thank our fellow professionals that have worked tremendously hard alongside us in 2020, in ensuring the best possible outcome and service for our customers.
