I attended a Property Conference in Harrogate in November, the agents in the room were asked “In one word, describe the market.” I giggled at the number of agents that used the word “weird”. There have been times during 2023 where the market has been difficult to predict, with some properties flying out and others selling in a much more “pre-covid” style but selling at higher prices. We have seen particular strength in various areas for each of the offices, the Lakes and Ribble Valley continue to be “hot spots”. We have also seen strong interest in the villages surrounding Preston and Lancaster.
We are very excited to welcome 2024 – we start the year with the prospect of some fantastic instructions coming to market from Boxing Day onwards, with a variety of property types from houses with and without land, cottages in village settings, grand country homes, development opportunities and some fantastic new build developments along with farms and land, in a variety of locations, all giving the prospect of a really good market place as we head into the new year. We can feel a strange, pent up demand, with people looking to purchase and sell “AB properties” but in a more measured way than the period immediately after the pandemic. There are serious buyers in the market and distinct lack of good quality instructions.
We are looking for new instructions into the Spring and beyond to meet this demand. We are so fortunate to be entering 2024 with a fantastic team ready and raring to go! We love what we do, and we love who we do it for.
A huge thank you to our team, our clients and friends of the firm – wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
