Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF)

2nd April 2024

What’s new for 2024?

The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) is funded by DEFRA and provides investment towards specific items which will support improvements to productivity and efficiency for farming businesses.  New for 2024, the funding is now split into three separate areas to help you buy equipment or technology to:

  • Improve productivity
  • Manage slurry
  • Improve animal health and welfare.

The maximum grant amount for productivity and slurry has increased from previous years to £50,000 for each area, with the exception of the maximum animal health and welfare grant which remains at £25,000. These changes mean that you could receive up to £125,000 in grant funding across the three areas.

The Rural Payments Agency (RPA) will pay a grant amount of 50% or 60% for productivity items, 60% for slurry items and 50% for animal health and welfare items towards either the average cost of an item or the actual price you pay for them.

Popular items for the three grant areas include:

Productivity:

  • Direct Drill (4m)
  • Robotic Silage Pusher
  • Cameras for monitoring of farmyard.

Slurry:

  • Dribble Bars (6m or 10m)
  • Shallow Injection Systems (3m or 6m)
  • Robotic slurry pusher / collector

Animal Health and Welfare:

  • Mobile Sheep or Cattle Handling Systems
  • Cattle Crush (Automatic or Manual)
  • Clipping handpiece.

In 2024, there will be multiple application windows opening to apply for the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF).  To register early or discuss the available options, please get in touch with your local office.
