PARK FARM DISPERSAL SALE

SATURDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2024

Saturday saw the retirement sale on behalf of Bradley Farms Limited, Park Farm, Preesall following the sale of their farm which we were also favoured with the kind instruction.  The sale saw excellently maintained larger machinery utilised in conjunction with the operation of a high output intensive dairy farm. 

Buyers from both Wales, Scotland, surrounding counties and also locally were in attendance with the weather holding off well apart from a small shower halfway through the sale.  The machinery was well-maintained with keen demand for both larger and smaller items with a number of smaller items with notable mention to:

  • 2m x 4m gale breaker panels @ £85 each
  • Quantity of slurry fittings @ £48
  • Foot crush fittings @ £85
  • Quantity of mole traps @ £60
  • Pair of hydraulic rams @ £55

Larger items followed:

  • Concrete water troughs @ £190
  • 3 x water bowls @ £70
  • Galvanised troughs @ £60

Fencing posts followed in keen demand to £230 for a full bundle along with steel carrier with sheep netting at @£55 and £50 per roll.

John Deere front weights comprising wafer pack and frame to £700.

Bolster weights to £1,100.

Grassland equipment was in strong demand with:

  • Flat rollers to £720
  • Heavy duty cultivator to £380
  • Maschio 3m power harrow (2017) to £6,900
  • Sumo GLS subsoiler to £7,700
  • McConnell PA93E hedge cutter to £4,400
  • McHale 460 bale chopper to £5,900

Slurry tankers were also in demand with a Major LPG 2,400 gallon vacuum tanker constructed in 2008 to £3,200 and a Redrock 3,500 gallon vacuum tanker (2017) to £20,000.

Trailers again were in demand with an old 4t Horn tipping trailer to £1,800.

  • Chieftain 14t dump trailer (2009) to £8,800.
  • Bailey 14t silage trailer (2012) to £13,500.
  • Ifor Williams cattle trailer to £3,400.
  • Ifor Williams 3,500t plant trailer with ramps to £1,700.

Tractors and machinery were also strongly fought with a 2014 Honda 4 track quad with road kit to £2,850.

  • Isuzu Rodeo pickup truck with an outstanding 161,000 to £2,000.
  • John Deere 6430 Premium tractor (1008) with 14,750 hours to £17,000.
  • John Deere 6140M 4,600 hours (2021) to £44,500.
  • John Deere 6150R 7,960 hours (2014) to £27,000.
  • JCB TM420 pivot steer loader 7,880 hours (2018) to £45,500.

There was a small number of other items entered by local farmers and also the incoming farmer with an 8T Ken Wooton grain trailer to £3,400.

  • Pottinger 2 drum motor to £480.
  • Class Volto 540H tedder to £700.
  • IAE cattle crush to £2,550.

In short, it was a pleasure to carry out a well-organised farm sale for such a lovely family and we wish Graham, Kevin and families a long and happy retirement.
