Tackling Difficult Journeys

18th May 2018

David Cowburn

Many of our property sales are far from simple.  We have to focus on how to get a successful completion, tackling issues along the way.

That’s just what our Senior Partner, David Cowburn, faced when he recently completed The Lakeland 100.  A 105 mile race through the Lake District, including almost 23,000 ft of cumulative climb of wet, rocky and often difficult terrain.  Starting in Coniston at 6.00pm on Friday 28th July, and travelling continuously until returning to Coniston at 2.58am on Sunday 30th July, David finished in just under 33 hours, having been awake for over 40 hours in total.

“The event is brutal” said David, “there are around 450 entrants all of who are experienced Ultra Runners, however, only just over 50% finish, so I was delighted to complete the run.  Despite wanting to give up, on several occasions, it’s a case of digging deep, having a word with yourself and pushing on…..despite hallucinations on the second night!”

There is a link to David’s blog on the numbers of the event, including reference to the amount of food consumed!
