If you are approached by a company seeking agreement to carry out works on your land we are happy to offer our advice and services. Our services will very often come at no cost to the landowner or farmer as our fees are usually covered by the third parties.
Expected Procedures
As the landowner or farmer you will often be approached by a representative notifying you of intended works expected to take place on your land.
Our advice is that it is always best to get your land agent involved as soon as possible to ensure that we can work to obtain favourable agreements, accommodation works and compensation claims. Matters may include negotiation around starting dates, sensible compound locations and, if needed, negotiate access/compound licences and licence payments.
During the project our role is to ensure that agreements are kept to, and that contractors respect the requirements of the licences and legislation under which they work.
Once the works have been completed it is then our role to ensure that reinstatement has been completed to your standards and prepare compensation claim for any outstanding reinstatement, damages and other losses caused by the works. We are sometimes called back to prepare and submit follow up claims if further issues arise. Broken drains that were not repaired correctly are a common cause for these call outs.
We have a team of experienced agents so if you have any questions or have been approached about works on your land, please contact us at your nearest Armitstead Barnett Office.
