Burscough village is situated in the heart of scenic West Lancashire, with a charming semi-rural feel yet within easy reach of local motorway and rail links accessing Liverpool, Manchester, Preston and other major commercial centres.
Burscough developed as a small farming village on a low ridge above the West Lancashire Coastal Plain. Burscough has an excellent village centre with its many restaurants, village pubs and local shops. For those with children there are a good selection of primary schools in the area along with the local secondary school, Burscough Priory Academy. Also, you will find close to Burscough the famous Martin Mere which is a great family day out where you’ll be able to see thousands of rare birds, otters and pink flamingos.
Having moved to the area, early this year, I have found Burscough bursting with lots to see and do, it has a great community feel about the village. There are some beautiful walks too which I have explored with my partner and our two little dogs: Lady’s Walk, Mere Sands Wood and Ruff Wood are worth a visit and there are plenty more to list.
With having the opportunity to work at Armitstead Barnett’s South Lancashire office, I get too see some beautiful homes in lovely rural locations. Burscough is a beautiful place to visit and even better to live – if you would like to find out more please do give me a call on 01704 895 995.
