Professionalism is at the heart of the firm

Armitstead Barnett have always believed that our staff should be well trained and knowledgeable in order to offer the best service to our clients.  Armitstead Barnett actively supports our staff and provides the tools they need to achieve qualifications in their specific field.  Partner, Emma Hodkinson has recently become a member of the National Association of Estate Agents (MNAEA) as have Tom Hargreaves and Alex Blundell after they recently passed their Level 3 CePaP in Property Advice and Practice.

Membership to the MNAEA means that the team is qualified and trained to give you up-to-date advice, guidance and adhere to a voluntary Code of Practice and Rules of Conduct.

As Chartered Surveyors, we are also regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and have chosen to be regulated by Propertymark, so we are required to ensure staff adhere to high professional standards; this is nothing new for our firm. We are also pleased to be part of the ‘Able Agent’ training program allowing our full team to enhance and develop their skills.

Although not yet compulsory, we are ahead of the game when it comes to regulation with many members of staff having achieved or working towards professional qualifications. This is made increasingly important with the proposed Regulation of Property Agents (RoPA) bill which has been discussed at length and campaigned for by many of the regulatory bodies in the UK property industry. If successful, all those working in the industry must have some form of qualification as, surprisingly, in England there is no requirement by law for Estate Agents to be licensed or qualified, and we believe that the introduction of a compulsory qualification is no bad thing!
